HAIR VS HAIR MATCH: Nikky Chance d. Miniak Savard
The Analysis:
This match was weeks in the making, CHW Online fans knew it would happen one day, and finally, it did.
Unlike some of the more recent matches in CHW, this one had some meaning to it. Nikky Chance, the outspoken rookie wanted to prove that he has what it takes to lead CHW one day. Whereas his opponent, Miniak, was the first ever CHW Backyard Champion and had already led the company for so many years. She was the perfect target.
Nikky took aims at Miniak, trying to get her to fight. Miniak, however, wanted nothing to do with Nikky Chance. Not out of fear, but out of the mindset of "You haven't proven anything to me yet." Nikky took this as an insult, and for weeks, the arrogant former Nick Young taunted Miniak. And finally, on an edition of Miniak's Q&A, she accepted under the stipulation of hair vs. hair. After the acceptance, what we saw on screen was Nikky attempt to toy with Miniak's head. However, off the screen and on social media, it was Miniak playing the mind games. Fans online joined in on the upcoming match, even starting a hashtag against the self proclaimed "King of Clubs."
April 19, 2014.
Unlike what he preached before, Nikky took it upon himself to attack Miniak before the match. From a fan stand point, it didn't make him look like he was sure if he could win the match without a cheapshot. Back and forth, the two took it to the extreme, but finally Nikky was able to put Miniak through a table and drop from a ladder onto Miniak, finally putting the "Queen of the Backyard" away.
Although she said she didn't mind getting a hair cut, when it was time, she wanted no part of it. Miniak tried getting away, but it seems as if Miniak had more rivals than friends as superstars from every direction stopped her from fleeing, the luscious locks of the extreme queen were gone.
Review:
CHW yet again pleases the fans with a highly entertaining matchup. CHW Original Miniak has again proved how dedicated she is to the company that she helped build. Although he won, Nikky didn't exactly prove he's CHW Backyard Championship worthy. The pre-match attack was a little unnecessary if he wanted to prove a point. But I won't take anything away from him, he got the job done.
What's Next?:
Nikky Chance-
Nikky is going down one of two roads. Either, he moves on from his past and goes after a championship, or he lives in it and stays where he is in the company. I personally want Nikky Chance as a champion, but not yet. I think we should get some more matches from him, perhaps against Innovator in a non-title match, or Agent Exile. Eventually, he'll prove why he should be champion. But so far, he hasn't had many top-tier matches.
Miniak-
Redemption. Without her tag team partner and husband around, Miniak is on her own. We have seen this woman take it to the extreme for years, and as of late, she has been pushed down by management. Hopefully the result of this match has showed the company she is willing to do anything for them. Maybe this was a turn around for her? The Next Era of Miniak has maybe just begun. New look, new attitude. Personally, we like her new hair style.
