April 26, 2014 - Nikky Chance discusses his future, Miniak, more.
CHWrestlingBlog caught up with wrestler Nikky Chance for an exclusive interview for #NikkyChanceWeek where he discusses his win over Miniak, championship goals, and more!
CHWBlog: What has been your favorite CHW match that you have been involved in so far?
Nikky Chance: My match with Miniak. She's a great competitor and I think we showed some powerful chemistry wrestling wise. It's a been a very interesting experience. As I'm the least experienced roster member it's fun to work with wrestlers that I have, up until now, just watched and see how they function. So far, I don't think any of my opponents have been difficult to work with.
CHWBlog: Alright, now who has been your favorite opponent so far and why?
Nikky Chance: My favorite opponent would probably be Swede. He gave me a great opportunity to wrestle for a contract and I still find him entertaining.
CHWBlog: Who in CHW, past or present, do you consider your dream opponent?
Nikky Chance: Ric Roberts. He's the other newbie in CHW and clearly talented. A former CHW Backyard Champion, current CHW Tag Team Champion, and definitely someone I want to cross paths with.
CHWBlog: Everyone has there own signature match in wrestling. What would you consider yours?
Nikky Chance: It's looking like my most infamous one is going to be Hair vs. Hair. I'm still new, but I can see a lot of revenge seeking coming. Perhaps other hair vs. hair matches in the future.
CHWBlog: Let's mention some recent events in CHW. You got into a social media war with Miniak months before this match happened. You challenged Miniak numerous times, however she declined. Why do you think that was?
Nikky Chance: She had nothing to gain. I was a speck of dust compared to others and her previous feuds took precedence.
CHWBlog: April 19, you defeated Miniak. At that exact moment, what was your internal reaction?
Nikky Chance: Everything became clear. I saw my future for Season 5 in an instant.
CHWBlog: Alright, now let's talk championships. Which championship do you want to go after as your first?
Nikky Chance: Well, I would have originally said the tag titles with Agent Exile, but with current events and my win against Miniak, I think there's a clear choice. I'm going after Matt Rage's CHW Interstate Title.
CHWBlog: When you debuted, we saw a young Nick Young give his all to Swede Savard. Here we are months later, a brand new person. How and why did this evolution occur?
Nikky Chance: I never really changed. As you saw against Miniak, I gave it my all. I bled a good portion of that match and I am just as devoted to wrestling. Agent Exile became my personal friend soon after my debut and he showed me quite a few things before his injury. I see cheating and lies that have led to me being more aggressive. Especially against "The Originals".
CHWBlog: In CHW, what are your goals that you want to achieve before you retire?
Nikky Chance: When I started wanting to learn, I had 5 goals.
1. Learn to wrestle
2. Be in a match
3. Win a match
4. Win a title
5. Win THE title
Since then, I've added one other thing. Retire a wrestler in a one on one match.
CHWBlog: You've come a long way since your debut. And I do mean a long way. But none of that would have happened without a try out match and fan voting. What was that process like?
Nikky Chance: I was so incredibly honored to be voted in by the fans. They have a great deal of influence in who I've become. My multi person matches (Genie in the Lamp, Stairway to Heaven) were set backs, but necessary to lead me up to current times. I'm more confident in my abilities now than ever before.
CHWBlog: Final question, have you thought about making history? If my history is correct, not a single person in CHW history has held all 3 of the Backyard, Interstate, and Tag Team Championships. Do you feel you could become the first in CHW to hold the 3?
Nikky Chance: Without a doubt. I'm undefeated in one on one matches, setting me up pretty well for the CHW Interstate and Backyard championships. In my ONLY tag team match, the Stairway to Heaven Gauntlet, I defeated TWO TEAMS before my partner submitted. I'm a hot commodity in CHW and being the first Triple Crown Winner could and will happen eventually.
